Meiko

Meiko is ready to prance her way into your heart! This happy, wiggly girl loves life and radiates joy. Small but mighty, she is a professional snuggler and loves to be close to both human and dog friends alike. 

Meiko came to us from the Chandler55 hoarding case in Arizona. We know she previously had a spinal injury, and from her previous shelter, that earlier this year, she was completely down in the back end. Since then, she has made a fantastic recovery and is back walking, running, and doing all of her favourite activities independently. Meiko has a skip to her step and a tendency to crisscross her back legs when standing, which we refer to as her 'razzle dazzle'. She gets around like a typical pup, with the exception of jumping - she likes having a boost to get onto your bed, or into the car. She is fully continent and does not require any mobility aids. 

She is an easy going, happy bundle of love and sweetness and just wants to spend time with her people. Whether that is playing a game of tug, or bouncing around the yard, she’s happy to be included. Meiko loves walks and if you need an excuse to go to Starbucks and Homesense, 'she wanted to go'.

Medical: Spinal injury resulting in hind limb ataxia and intermittent crossing of rear limbs when standing. 
Housetrained: Yes- about 80% and improving daily. Occasional accidents due to coming from a hoard where outside was not always an option, but quickly learning. 
Crate trained: Yes

Likes: One of her faves is snuggling under the covers. This girl is happiest cuddled up with her people. She also loves treats of all kinds, playing with other pups and overall, just being included in whatever you’re doing!
